Atlantic Hurricane Season 2017 may be one of the most active hurricane seasons in recent years according to The Weather Company. Hopefully, you have taken the time to develop a Hurricane Preparedness Plan to keep your families, students, and employees safe. If not, it’s not too late, and there are several Safety Apps that you might want to download to help you prepare and stay safe.
Atlantic Hurricane Season 2017 Safety Apps #1
The NOAA Radar Pro Weather Alerts and Forecast App from Apalon Apps provides a Hurricane Tracking feature along with detailed weather forecasting. The app is not free, but it is feature rich and “is the only app where all National Weather Service’s watches, warnings, advisories and other alerts are visible as interactive polygons.” You can download the app from the App Store or at Google Play.
Atlantic Hurricane Season 2017 Safety Apps #2
The FEMA App from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The app is described as “your one-stop-shop with tools and tips to keep you safe before, during, and after disasters.” The app provides alerts, shelter locations, allow you to keep a list of emergency kit items, safety tips, and provides access to Disaster Assistance. You can download the app from the App Store or at Google Play.
Atlantic Hurricane Season 2017 Safety Apps #3
The American Red Cross Hurricane App allows you to monitor hurricane conditions locally and provides information on shelter locations. I am concerned about recent reviews but tested my version of the app, and it worked fine, it’s free so give it a shot. You can download the app from the App Store or at Google Play.
